A Single Mother Finds Hope & Purpose
An amazing story!
This single mom and her 10-year-old daughter came to us two months ago. She had recently relocated down to Florida.
As a young girl, this mom was forced into human trafficking by a family member.
She believed this lifestyle was all she was worth, so she remained in it until about three years ago. At that time, she overcame her hardships and put her foot down to make a big change.
When we met her, she was living in a hotel provided by Hope Place and eagerly waiting to find a place she and her daughter could call home.
After recovering from Covid-19, she found an apartment and was able to move in quickly. We helped her furnish her home with furniture donated by amazing people in our community.
She and her daughter finally had a comfortable and safe place to live, but she struggled to find a good-paying full-time job due to her background.
One day she found an ad for a job opportunity at a domestic violence survivor shelter. She knew she wasn't qualified for this position on paper, but if anyone was ever qualified to help others in this way, it was her!
Our team made some phone calls and got her in for an interview.
She was hired at the shelter!
For this single mom, this is a dream come true! For the first time in her life, she is making enough money to support herself and her daughter comfortably, but most importantly, she told us that now she finally understands that all of the trauma she has lived through has a purpose.
God is incredible, and if we let Him, he will make good come from our brokenness. This is an amazing and beautiful story of someone coming full circle, and she believes God was with her every step of the way.
