Fruitful Mentorship and Renewed Faith

This single mother of four lost her job. While looking for a new job, she fell behind on her bills and was in danger of having her power cut off. She reached out to Salty Family Services for help. She was very interested in receiving mentoring and quickly engaged with a mentor. During their meetings she would set goals related to getting a job, managing a budget and reducing debt.

As mom and mentor concluded their time together, the mentor asked about the young woman’s faith which proved to be just the gentle invitation needed to re-engage at church. A short while later this mom showed up at Salty and re-connected with her mentor. She was so grateful for the help she had received and shared a new goal of being financially stable to the point she can contribute toward helping another family. She now attends church regularly and includes her children.

We can see the evidence of God’s hand on this young mother as He sustained her through a season of transition and provided a way for her to work in a rewarding career for which she had been trained. In her words, “Sometimes we don’t know why God does things. But then we take a step back and say thank you. Thank you, God, because You listened to my prayers.” We give thanks for a renewed heart and a life transformed.
